Online Lessons

I am really happy to offer face to face lessons, however I appreciate that many students really enjoy the convenience of studying from their own home and not being limited in their choice of tutor by logistics and travel distance.

With this in mind I am going to be continuing to provide online lessons alongside my face-to-face tuition on an ongoing basis.

Please see the instructions below with regard to booking any online lessons.  If you have any questions regarding this process, or booking a face-to-face lesson, please get in touch and I will be happy to assist you.

Whether you are focussed on full kit playing, technique & rudiments, learning theory or studying towards exams and performances; all can be supported via online lessons.

You don't need a full drum kit to benefit from online lessons.  Access to a good quality practice pad can enable us to work through a vast array of exercises and systems to ensure constant progress and development in your playing.

To book an online lesson, please follow these steps:

1. All online lessons will be provided through a Skype video call. Sign up for a free Skype account following this link: Get Skype

2. To maximise lesson efficiency, please check your internet connection speed prior to booking your lesson. This can be done by following this link: Internet Speed Test. To achieve a successful video connection the optimum internet speed is 25Mbps (megabits per second) and above. It is entirely up to you if you would like to proceed with a lower internet speed.

3. Please contact me via email or phone to discuss available sessions. I will issue a payment link that will need to be settled 24 hours prior to the agreed lesson time, as soon as the payment has been made the lesson time is secured for you.

4. I will contact you at the agreed time so please have Skype open on your device and be ready to receive the call. Please consider the position of your camera as I will need to have a clear view of you and your drum kit in order to provide the best support and feedback

Safeguarding & Tips For Online Lessons

  • Please remember to fully charge your device or keep it plugged in for the duration of our video lesson.

  • Skype is to be used for lessons only and not for other contact, e.g. sharing photos or general messaging.

  • Students should dress appropriately for all Skype lessons.

  • Parents are always welcome, and encouraged, to be present during all Skype lessons.
